Don’t worry because it is time well-spent to benefit from a prosthetic that looks and feels natural. Every situation differs, but here’s what you can expect while on your journey to a complete smile.

Consultation

You must have a consultation with a denture dentist to ensure they are right for you and to create a personalized treatment plan. Besides a visual examination, your dentist will review X-rays and may perform other diagnostic services to have a full picture of your oral health and structures. They’ll review their findings with you and discuss your treatment plan.

Preparatory Procedures

It’s common to require a little prep work before getting your new teeth, like gum disease therapy or tooth extractions. Your mouth must be healthy before getting dentures.

Impression and Wax Mockup

After all the groundwork has been set, your dentist will take an impression of your mouth, which is used to create a wax mockup. Your impression is sent to the dental lab, well they’ll create a sample denture to try on before making your final prosthetics.

Trying On Your New Smile

Once the mockup has been sent back to your dentist, you’ll return and try it on. Your dentist will check the fit and your bite to ensure you don’t need any adjustments. It’s not unusual to require a few alterations before you’re ready for your final set of teeth.

Final Dentures and Adjustments

The dental lab will create your dentures to meet your exact specifications to look and feel realistic. They’ll use high-quality materials and advanced technologies to ensure the best function and aesthetics. You’ll walk out of your appointment with a beautiful smile to be proud of.

Regular Relining

You may need a couple of minor adjustments after having your dentures for a few weeks. It’s also important to visit your dentist regularly to have your dentures relined. This helps maintain a snug fit for comfort and function. It will also allow you to get the most from your investment. With the correct care at home and regular dental appointments, your new smile can last for 5 to 7 years before needing replacement dentures.
