Prosthodontics: A Specialty of Dentistry: The specialty of prosthodontics focuses on the artistic and biomechanical science of tooth replacement. Intricate, delicate, and highly complicated cases are treated rountinely by a prosthodontist. How do you pronounce it? Prosth--o--dontics. The focus of this specialty is crowns, bridges, and dentures. We are also trained to manage bite relationship problems. Implant supported crowns and implant supported bridges, implant supported dentures are also a major focus at our office. Dr. Feit is proud to have completed the Brookdale/New York University Dental Implant Maxi-Course in New York. This was an intensive year long residency encompassing all aspects of implants. At the conclusion of this course of study, Dr. Feit successfully passed the comprehensive written examination process. Precision attachment and semi-precision attachment dentures are also utilized in situations involving a combination of crowns/bridges and dentures. Intricate attachment mechanics is a part of the specialty of prosthodontics. Cosmetic/Aesthetic/Esthetic: Veneers, Bonding, Whitening is all a part of the specialty of prosthodontics as well. The new, improved materials that are available today make for virtually limitless possibilities for creating that dazzling smile you have always desired and deserved. Dr. Feit has focused his continuing education endeavors on this important area during the last few years. We consider this style of dentistry like plastic surgery. We refer to it as "plastic dentistry". The concept is the same. To feel better about ourself. That is the goal of all the treatments in our office. We have had patients tell us after their newly created smile was completed, they finally received the raise they deserved or a long awaited promotion that was due. Many even found they were better able to attract that "special" someone into their life. It is extremely rewarding for us to see such dramatic results. |
